Announcing Our New Partnership with Humpty Doo Barramundi: A Sustainable Leap Forward

We're thrilled to announce our newest partnership with Humpty Doo Barramundi, a family-owned, sustainable seafood producer based in the Northern Territory of Australia.

This collaboration represents more than just a business relationship; it’s a shared commitment to premium quality, environmental responsibility, and innovation in the seafood industry.

Founded in 1993 and located halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park, Humpty Doo Barramundi operates along the beautiful Adelaide River. Their farm has grown into one of Australia’s largest and most respected Barramundi producers, supplying fresh fish year-round across the country.

Guided by the mantra “saltwater in our veins,” the business is driven by a deep connection to place, community, and a fierce dedication to responsible farming. They use naturally warm waters, efficient land-based ponds, and cutting-edge aquaculture techniques to produce consistently high-quality Barramundi while preserving the health of the surrounding environment.

As part of our partnership, we’re proud to support Humpty Doo's bold move to phase out EPS (expanded polystyrene) packaging in favour of URTHCOR, our more sustainable, 100% closed-loop recyclable solution. Integrating Humpty Doo's packaging into our closed-loop recycling program not only reduces environmental waste but also reinforces their mission of sustainability from water to plate.

Humpty Doo’s new packaging design features a striking image of the company’s CEO Dan Richards holding one of their iconic Barramundi by a farm pond. It captures the spirit of tradition, hard work, and authenticity that defines their product.

Aside from making a splash visually, the new boxes achieve significant freight efficiencies when sending their fish from Darwin to the rest of the country. This benefits both the producer and customer through greater pallet optimisation, as well as space savings on both ends through their smart flat-packed design.

Together, we’re excited to bring you Barramundi that tastes as good as the story behind it. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to support sustainable seafood and the incredible producers making it happen.
